About

The Anthony Clarke Memorial Fund

The Anthony Clarke Memorial Fund was set up at TWRFC and at Bethany School Goudhurst to commemorate the life of Anthony Clarke. Anthony had joined Tunbridge Wells as an U6 and progressed to the 1st Xv as an 18 year old. Although his preferred position was scrum half he played at fly half and at full back in a season where TWRFC were playing RFU level 6 Rugby. He was about to start a Kent U 20 season and had already played for the Kent Senior Seven in a County Championship competition. In late November 2003 Anthony very sadly died in a road accident along with his long term friend Amy Donelan who had just left Bedgebury School. Every year Bethany award a prize in Anthony’s name and so do the Rugby Club who choose someone who like Anthony has come through to the Seniors from the Club mini section, but just as importantly his fund supports those who may not be able to join the Club or go on an important tour or do some form of Rugby Course.
